While I lecture subject-matter for the qualifications I focus on, I spend most of my time coaching and teaching students about mindset.
Most of my students want to get more lectures, more notes, more tutorial videos. They feel that more classes will mean they'll pass.
Take a look at some of the basic impacts:
Take-aways
If you don't have a growth mindset... here are some practical implications:
Your fear of not doing well will affect the way you study and what you focus on
Struggling with topics, practice questions and tests will affect your future studying. You may procrastinate, avoid, defer exams
Because you're worried about what you 'look' like, whether people think you're not smart, you may avoid getting help, even if you have great teachers and lecturers
You may overly focus on topics you are comfortable with and avoid the ones you SHOULD be spending more time on
My point? Our mindsets are pervasive to the decisions we make on a daily basis.
It's absolutely worth improving your mindset.
